Alarm 54, --50 ila +70 _C (--58 _F ila +158 _F) aralığının dışında algılanan geçersiz bir birincil besleme sıcaklık sensörü okuması ile etkinleştirilir veya prob kontrol mantığı bu sensörde bir hata olduğunu tespit ederse. Alarm 54 etkinleştirilirse ve birincil besleme kontrol sensörü ise, ünitenin bu kadar donanımlı olup olmadığını kontrol etmek için ikincil besleme sensörü kullanılacaktır. Ünitede ikincil bir besleme sıcaklık sensörü yoksa ve AL54 etkinleştirilirse, birincileturn sensor reading, minus 2_C will be used for control.
