This water heater meets or exceeds the ASHRAE/IES 90.1b (latest edition) standards with respect to insulation and standby loss requirements. Setting the water temperature to the maximum set point can result in scalding hot water delivered to the faucets. It is highly recommended that the maximum setpoint be adjusted to the lowest temperature possible for the needs of the installation. See following section in this Installation/Operation Manual to change the maximum setpoint limit (max setpoint).
